Philip is happily married to his wife, Christi, and they are raising their first child, William, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second this fall. Christi and Philip met while serving as deputy prosecutors in the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
Philip was born in northern Indiana and moved to Indianapolis in the third grade. He graduated from IUPUI while working at the Indiana School for the Blind. He later attended and graduated from Harvard Law School.
After law school, Philip spent a few years as a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps in Chicago; his practice included internal investigations of international banks, arbitration, and high-stakes litigation.
Then Philip returned to Indiana and joined the Prosecutor's Office, where he tried multiple cases from traffic tickets to murder. Recently, Philip has focused on another passion, real estate.
On January 20, 2023, Jacob Blasdel resigned as Clerk-Treasurer leaving a vacancy to be filled by a caucus of the Republican Precinct Committee Persons for Speedway, who elected Philip on January 28. Philip's term ends December 31, 2023, and he is seeking election on November 7.
